Circle and Spoke believes women are unstoppable when we are centered in ourselves in a supportive community. Through our bike rides and retreats, we deepen our "spokers" (aka members of our community) connection to cycling, community and herself in order to support her shifting gears in and out of the saddle.

So what exactly is Circle and Spoke?

We believe that through biking you can get into gear in your life.We believe biking is an accessible, fun and inclusive sport that you as a woman should feel confident and in balance to claim for yourself.We believe you don’t have to have the swankiest gadgets, get to the finish line first or always be beating your personal record to enjoy cycling.We believe one of the most important technologies of our time isn't found in a new app or computer chips, it's building authentic, supportive, real live community where you feel a sense of belonging, care and inspiration. We are about building community through biking and bringing rest and reflection into biking retreats, so while you are feeling your strength on a ride, you feel boosted thanks to connecting, reflecting and riding alongside a supportive and fun community.We believe moving at your own pace (as we like to call it, moving at the speed of grace) means you know your rhythm, boundaries and self and that should be applauded and celebrated.Welcome to Circle and Spoke. About our Founder

Ellen Oshinsky

Ellen has worn many hats. Metaphorically and also literally... she loves hats and won't be found biking or skiing without a helmet.Formerly a NYC Public School Teacher, she finds building community to be oh so juicy! In her late 20s, she stumbled serendipitously upon a rad grant to envision and host retreats. She believes retreats are magical because they bring community together to be more supported, a secret sauce to building a more thriving world. In the spring of 2023, Ellen had a spark of inspiration realizing that she was going to lead a transformational retreat/ride and went from an occasional cyclist to a bikepacking enthusiast.Ellen has been an environmental educator with Audubon New York, the founder of DMV EcoAdventures, a ski instructor at Deer Valley Resort and is a fundraiser with Avodah: The Jewish Service Corps. Ellen has a MA in Elementary Inclusive Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, a BA in Spanish from the University of Miami and is fluent in Spanish.
